What are SATs?
SATs stand for Statutory Assessment Tasks (or tests). They are the standardised tests taken by all children in England and Wales at the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6). They help assess how much progress your child has made throughout their time at primary school, as well as form a baseline level of assessment for high schools to use.
In the summer term of 2019, children in Year 6 will be assessed. These tests in English and Mathematics reflect the national curriculum, and are intended to be rigorous.
At the end of Year 6, children will sit tests in:
Writing will be assessed by our teachers.
SATs are successful when there is a partnership between home and school. We know that you, as parents, would like to do everything that you can to help your child do as well as they can in the upcoming tests. Later this year you can find below a series of resources that will help your child to do as well as they can.
