I have lived in Leeds for the last 20 years and am married with a daughter who is in year 9. Since I have had a child, I’ve become more interested in education and this led to me becoming involved in her playgroup first as treasurer and then as chair of the committee. I also helped out by listening to reading in her primary school.
At work, I’ve been a Civil Servant for more than 25 years, working in all sorts of roles and in that time I’ve managed teams who provided an advice service, managed budgets and premises and currently I work in human resources.
Now my daughter is a teenager I have more time to get more involved and wanted to use those skills outside work. I became a co-opted governor last year. This means my work skills were matched to the needs of a school governing body. I am really pleased this has led to me being involved with Greenhill. I am a member of the Resource Committee and feel this is a real opportunity to use my experience and knowledge to support the school and head.
