Elder class Summer Forest trip - the final trip to the forest! Pond dipping, fishing, a nature walk and searching for animal and insect habitats all over the forest and around the beautiful ponds.
SPORTS DAY FOR ELDER CLASS JUNE 2019
Weighing and measuring in Elder June 2019
OUR SPRING VISIT TO CARLSHEAD FOREST FARM! We had a brilliant time in the bluebell-filled forest, decorating eggs and making protected and comfortable nests for them, and finding out about animal habitats. We even had time for games in the forest (the egg game was a favourite), and had fun on the rope swing!
Our science topic - plants and growth. Our experiment: how well will a bean grow without any soil? We gave the bean water, light and warmth, but no soil. Look at our beans to see how the experiment has worked. Did the bean grow at all? Did it germinate and produce a shoot and root?
In maths we have been working on the properties of 2D and 3D shapes!
ELDER CLASS FOREST VISIT! What a wonderful, sunny day, with a fantastic den building session and a picnic as well! The children worked in great teams and co-operated and communicated really well to produce wonderful dens. A great day was had by all!
