Homework
- Regular reading at home is the most important element, helping children develop vocabulary, comprehension, fluency and a lifelong enjoyment of books.
-
Short practice tasks such as learning spellings support children in applying accurate spelling in their writing.
-
Practising times tables and key number facts helps children build fluency and confidence in mathematics.
-
Occasional theme-based ‘learning log’ tasks may be set to encourage creativity, curiosity and independent research linked to the class topic.
