Attendance at Greenhill
At Greenhill, we believe that regular attendance at school is vital to help children achieve and get the best possible start in life. We provide our children with experiences that develop their social and emotional lives coupled with the skills and knowledge to drive them forward academically. Working in partnership with our parents is the best way for us to achieve this for our children.
The Legal Position:
Greenhill use Working Together To Improve Attendance - from the DfE to improve our attendance in line with current best practice.

The importance of regular school attendance:
Children who frequently miss school often fall behind. There is a strong link between good school attendance and achieving good results. For example, only 12% of pupils with below 80% school attendance achieve five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and Maths, compared to 68% for pupils with attendance greater than 95%
However, it is not just academically beneficial. Going to school socialises children and allows them to form life-long friendships. It is a place where the cares of the world can be left behind and a love of learning can be developed.
