Welcome to Year 2

Our oldest classes in Key Stage 1 are named after the native trees Silver Birch and Elder. 

Silver Birch Class 

 A stunning tree, the Silver Birch has striking white bark that peels away and makes excellent firelighting material! The Silver Birch has long symbolised renewal and rebirth and bundles of Silver Birch twigs were used to drive out the spirits of the old year.

 Silver Birch class are taught by Mrs Davies and supported by

Elder Class

With it's fragrant flowers and soft, dark fruits the Elder is the very essence of Summer! It is said that an Elder tree planted outside your house would keep the devil  away. However buring Elder wood allows you to see the devil - so probably best avoided!

Elder are taught by Miss Maltby and supported by Mrs Murphy
