Year 1

Home Learning

All of year 1 are set up on the learning app Seesaw. We have been using this in class to share our learning with each other. It is an excellent way to communicate with each other as a class and allows your children to keep in touch with their teachers. We can also set learning tasks and games for you to complete. It is free to use and works like a blog/facebook style, it is safe and secure to use. If you would like your child's access code please email us at We miss you all and would love to hear from you!

Miss Worthy & Miss Atkinson x

With the current advice regarding self-isolation, we are compiling many useful resources that can be used at home if you are off. We want to continue to support children with their learning during this difficult time by offering support through revision and the revisiting of topics that have been covered so far this year. Please click below to access subject specific resources and activities that will help engage brains and support mental wellbeing. We will update these links regularly. Please email us at if you have any questions or would like to share your learning with us.

Miss Worthy and Miss Atkinson have created a document with specific learning challenges for you to do at home, there is enough for five days at home. We will upload a new learning challenge each week.

Adults please remember to keep an overview of your child’s internet / social media activity. Although there are many apps that allow live streaming and chats with friends, not all of them have an automatic “private mode” , and other, unknown people could be joining in chats. On our website e-safety page, we have all our newsletters, which take adults through many of the games and social media that our children have been using. Please help your children stay safe online.

Some fun activities to try at home this week!

We will change this every week so make sure you keep checking on our class page to see what fun things you could do at home!

Free resources and websites for parents!

As you may be aware some of our children in year 1 have been part of a project called Tutormate in which they read to their tutor online for half an hour a week. Tutormate have been working hard to provide support to our school during this time. They have now released some free materials, including access to free books online.

If you need access to free online stories to read with your child visit this site on a tablet/laptop: (not suitable for mobile phones).
