Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

This week in Holly class we have been inspired by the works of Jon Klassen. He is the illustrator of our class text Pax but has also wrote and illustrated some amazing books for younger children. Take a look at the adaptations of his stories that the children wrote and performed below...

Home Learning

With the current advice regarding self-isolation, we are compiling many useful resources that can be used at home if you are off. We want to continue to support children with their learning during this difficult time by offering support through revision and the revisiting of topics that have been covered so far this year. Please click below to access subject specific resources and activities that will help engage brains and support mental wellbeing.

Parents - try out these practical hands-on activities with your children.... They don't require any worksheets or printing!

Last week would have been SATS week for everyone in Year 6; a chance to show off all the amazing progress and hard work the children have put in, not only in Year 6, but during the entirety of key stage 2. Although the tests have been canceled this year, we felt it was important for the children to remain challenged and focused during the week so we have prepared a special 'Lockdown' SATS paper that they can completed at home.

Click on the link below and email any completed work to the usual address...we hope you enjoy : )

Transition to High School

The most important and exciting aspect of summer term in year 6 is getting the children prepared for their transition into high school. We are hopeful that we will be back together again in school before the summer holidays so we can continue this journey together. In the meantime, we are collating some resources that can be used at home to get children as best prepared as we can, focusing on the positive and exciting aspects of high school an growing up (click link below)! If the children have any questions or queries as a result of watching any of the clips or from completing any of the activities, then please encourage them to email us at and we will answer them as best we can!

VE Day

Friday the 8th of May marks the 75th anniversary of VE day (victory in Europe day) and is a time for us to pay tribute to the

service and sacrifice of the entire Second World War generation. Take a look at the resources below to find out more...
